No?

Well, this may be the last post for another few months so you better enjoy it while you can. I'm going to simply post rapid updates so they are all available right here on the front page (as well as the RSS feed). Lots of material so sit back and watch it roll in. As always, enjoy. -- DJ

Well, here we are folks, the last Jam Night of 2009. And as it happened, it was another great practice session for the upcoming gig. By this point I think we are really starting to feel it. We don't do a lot of practicing on the Jam Night, usually just pick up a song book and pick something, but with a half dozen practices behind us, I think we are ready for the gig. Since I am posting this close to the end of January, I can tell you it was a good gig. We brought lots of friends and family and closed the place down (when my wife finished off all the Bourbon :)

So from the Jam Night Jukebox to you, a sincere and heartfelt Happy New Year. We'll keep the jams coming as long as you keep listening (I'm talking to you China and France). So until next time, keep on rocking. -- DJ

Here we are, the last Jam Night before Christmas. I'm a little late getting this posted, but a late Christmas present is better than no Christmas present.

This was a classic Scotty and The Gallinippers jam with a twist. We open with Walkin' The Floor, an old classic favorite of mine. We do another classic from there and a cover of JJ Cale's Tijuana. A little Buddy Holly and another one I'm not sure of the title. And then, ladies and gentlemen, what you've all been waiting for (for the last year), we do the newest classic Christmas original from our occasional Tuesday night sit in but regular Thursday night contributor and leader of the band Garland Buckeye, AT; Old Eggnog Party (Down The Road). It just wouldn't be Christmas without it. And then, for good measure, we do the other newest classic Christmas original from our other songwriter EBG; I'm not sure what he calls it.

Anyway, it was a great pre-Christmas jam and there's plenty more from there including another original instant Christmas classic AND another run-through of the songs for the upcoming gig. That's so much goodness even I am amazed. So have a listen and enjoy the Christmas spirit. -- DJ

Here's another Thursday night practice jam for the show we had a couple weeks ago. We were starting to get the songs down pretty good at this point. If you listen through all the practice sessions, you can really hear the difference a little practice makes. So even if you didn't make it out to the show you can listen here and get a pretty good idea of the show. Of course live is always better since you can't see the pyrotechnics and smoke when you listen to an mp3. You can imagine though. Can't you?

Hello friends, welcome back to The Jam Night Jukebox. Hope you're getting all your Christma, er, holiday shopping done. Only a couple weeks until the big day. If you haven't bought my gift yet, don't worry, I'll be happy even if they are late. And here's a little something for you, another installment of The Jam Night Jukebox. This is your basic Scotty and The Gallinippers night. Yup, just a bunch of kick ass jamming on a bunch of kick ass songs.

We kick off with a Stone's song that was actually quite subdued and went right on into a pretty raucous Johnny Cash song. After that, we covered one of our own with one off the very first project CD, unfortunately, we were sans Adam. I guess that's why they call it a tribute.

Another Johnny song, a poke at one of my favorite x-mas songs, a classic we haven't done in a minute, my personal favorite x-mas song of all time and we bring it home with a classic from Mr. Jones. That's a wrap people. Like Santa said to the elves, keep on jamming. -- DJ

Tonight's Jam Night was our one and only jam night for the special Thanksgiving Holiday week. As it happens, we may be playing another show soon so Adam made a rare Tuesday night appearance and we jammed on all the originals of his and Brad's that are potential show material. So here's a rare glimpse into the "practice sessions" (there, I said the p-word). With any luck, we'll be ready in a month or two but I suspect we will be playing sooner than that. But the biggest fear is over practicing, so we've got that covered. I'll announce the show as soon as we know. Enjoy! -- DJ

This night we just fell into it right off the bat as a great little blues warm up jam. Hopefully, by now, you are listening to this weeks jam and recognize it as ZZ Top's, Blue Jean Blues. Or at least our Jam Night Jam of Blue Jean Blues.

From there we had a good old Scotty and The Gallinippers jam; a little Stones, a little Townes, a little Hank (Sr., of course), some Doors and even some originals. What more can you ask for? Ok, you're right, I'll post another Jam Night A.S.A.P.

For now enjoy this jam packed (pun intended) edition of The Jam Night Jukebox. -- DJ

Hey Junkies, here's one I missed posting a couple months ago. Those hardcore junkies have downloaded it from the download page by now. But some of you are strictly podcast listeners so here's a bonus jam for you.

We run down Streets of Baltimore by one of our favorites, Gram Parsons, for what was possibly the first time. From there we do Heaven's Door, an original by EBGIII, House of the Rising Sun and a whole bunch of others. So enjoy the bonus and keep a lookout for a few of the more recent jam nights.

Well, here we are again. I'm all caught up just in time for Halloween. This is last night's Jam Night hot off the presses. We kick it off with a new one which I think is called "Uncloudy Day" but don't hold me to that. We move on into an original by our own EBGIII and follow that up with an original by our very own Adam Trumbo. We then take a shot at a little ditty by Woodie Guthrie called Ramblin' Blues. From there we do another new one and then, for your Halloween pleasure, in keeping with our long standing tradition, we do one of our best versions ever of Monster Mash. But wait, that's not all. We wrap things up with a solemn little tune by one of our favorite's of all time, Hank Williams, called How Can You Refuse Him Now.

So load us onto your iPud and take us with you while you terrorize the neighborhood and gorge yourself on candy. Good times. -- DJ

Welcome to another installment of The Jam Night Jukebox! Glad you could make it. And you'll be glad you did too. This edition of the Jam Night Jukebox kicks off with a rousing little version of Honky Tonk Woman by The Rolling Stones. You just can't go wrong with the Stones. We move on into a relatively new one for The Jukebox, Hurdy Gurdy Man by Donovan, including the lost verse written by George Harrison. Donovan isn't shy about dropping names and neither are we. From there we do Lola by the Kinks, a drinking song called (appropriately) Think I'll Just Stay Here And Drink, a Hank song called On The Bayou (you may have heard of it), Paperback Writer by the Beatles and the hits just keep on coming (ok, just a few more including a prelude to Halloween, Bad Moon Rising and Angel Of Death). Yet another Jam Night chock full of Jams for you our dedicated listeners (are you still there?).

Until next time my little Jam Night Junkies, Jam On! -- DJ

Well, here we are again. Getting close to being caught up on my postings. Have to get caught up so you can here our special Halloween edition we just finished last night before Halloween is actually past. So here's another installment of The Jam Night Jukebox.

In this edition, we kick it off with a few good ol' country classics including Blue Swede Shoes by Mr. Carl Perkins. From there we do an old classic by our own old classic, EBGIII, called Something's Written. We follow that up with (attempts at) Midnight Special, King Of The Road, Old Susanna (by Kentucky's own Stephen Foster) and several others. Yet another jam packed (no pun intended) Jam Night for your listening pleasure. Try to maintain your composure. -- DJ

Here you are again, back to get your fix of the Jam Night Jukebox. And we are ready to satisfy. This Jam Night kicks off with a little twiddling around while we play Foggy Notion in the background. Nothing like warming up with a great jam tune. We officially kick this Jam Night off with Nowhere Man by The Beatles (but I'm sure you knew that). From there we proceed to crank out an extended version of the Jam Night Jukebox with a full length album worth of Jam Night hits including but not limited to Mama Tried, Don't Look Now and Keep On Rocking In The Free World. If you listen closely, you might even catch the incredible one note solo by EBGIII. It takes a real jammer to pull off the one note solo and EBG does not disappoint.

We're into October now, getting close to the holiday season. So make sure to stay tuned for all of your favorite holiday songs right here on The Jam Night Jukebox. -- DJ

Welcome back to the Jam Night Jukebox. Tonight's Jam Night starts off with few old classics (traditionals?) by our fearless leader Scotty. We count on Scotty to keep us grounded in the songs of our forefathers, not that he's old or anything. You get a little taste of our "process" on the next song with Brad giving us the quick 2 minute breakdown of a song right before we kick it out like we knew it or something. From there Scotty kicks out another fairly traditional song, Sitting On Top Of The World. We proceed to do a Tom Petty song in keeping with our recent drive to incorporate more Tom Petty into the Jam Night, one more by Scotty and a great little song by Don Williams (and covered by some dude named Eric Clapton) called Tulsa Time. A quick trip through Memories Are Made of This by Johnny Cash and we hit the home stretch with a new one from one of, if the not the greatest bands of the 90s, Nirvana called Grandma Take Me Home.

If that's not a full line-up of hits, I don't know what else to do. As usual, the Jam Night Jukebox is your value leader in Jamming for the people. Hope you like it. -- DJ

Well, here we go again, lots of updates to catch up on. This jam night is the first post-Bro Classic jam so I have to give props to my Bro Pat. He beat me pretty bad and deserves to be reigning Bro Classic champ. But there's always next year!!

So back to business. This Jam Night starts off with one of our favs, Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain. We even do the long lost extra verse. From there we move on through a rousing version of Maybeline and then, by request of our in studio guest, we take a shot at Taking Care of Business by BTO. We felt a little "on the spot" but according to our guest, we nailed it. We don't usually do requests (for free) but we had a little electrical outage and our special guest actually fixed it for us so we felt like we owed him something. Thanks Richard!

From there we kick out a Tom Petty song, a Johnny Cash song and wrap things up with a tribute to Jim Carroll who passed away recently. This song is for you my brother.

Rock Out. -- DJ
Well, here we are. I have once again caught up with my posting duties. This jam was just last Tuesday and is the usual Scotty and The Gallinippers line-up except Scotty wasn't there. So as usual, while the cat's away, the mice will play. We kicked it off with one we've talked about doing for quite some time but never got around to until now; Beat On The Brat by the Ramones. The Ramones are one of life's guilty litle pleasures and as expected, we liked playing this one as much as listening to it. From there we move on to play several originals by EBGIII himself and throw in a few others like Hank Williams' You're Gonna Change or I'm Gonna Leave and Mr. David Bowie's Rebel Rebel.

Remember, keep an eye open for the special Sunday Beer Jam coming up this Sunday. I may actually get it posted before too long. And as previously mentioned, I will be participating in the annual Bro Classic next week so the special Sunday Beer Jam will have to keep you going until the following week. Also, don't forget that you can get all the latest jams before I manage to post them at the Jam Night download link.

Until next time, this is your host DJ J-Dawg, reminding you to Jam Your Ass Off!!

Anyway, we recover from that little exercise with new little bluesy number that I don't even know the name of. Hello again my little Jam Night Jukebox Junkies. This weeks Jam Night kicks off with an old favorite from Bobby Dylan. From there we did a new one from one of our favorite band of all time, The Minutemen. Well, as it turns out, it is actually a song by Credence Clearwater but The Minutemen covered it long ago on the Double Nickel album and that's where we all know it from. Anyway, from there we do a bunch of others including another from Bobby, another from Credence, one from the Stones and a few others to boot. Just another jam packed Jam Night.

And finally, I have to mention a note on some technical difficulties we had been experiencing. Unfortunately, it took us several weeks to realize we had a problem. You have probably noticed a bit of noise, clicking and crackling on the last several recordings. Well, one of our pre-amps on the MOTU has apparently gone bad. But do not fear, we have a new analog-digital (A/D) device now (a Tascam US-1641) and it is sweet!! No more noise and we're all happy about that, especially for the new project we've been recording. We strive to give you crystal clear jamming so keep listening and keep sending in all those nice cards and letters.

Jam Like You Mean It!! -- DJ

We'll have a special Sunday Beer jam this Sunday (how clever) since Brother Pat is coming into town for the annual Bro Classic. I'm looking to make this my fourth consecutive victory so wish me luck.

Meanwhile, in this Jam Night, we kick it off with a new one (for us) from Tom Petty. We don't do enough Tom Petty so this is an attempt to broaden our repertoire. From there we kick into a bunch of Jam Night standards and a couple other new ones (for us) from Neil Young and The Beatles. And finally we wrap up with a rousing version of Hound Dog.

That should be plenty to keep you happy for the next couple weeks but if you're lucky I've still got a few more to post before I'm all caught up. Well, I'm finally getting a chance to catch up on the postings after almost a month and a half. We've been busy recording the new project on Thursday nights so most of these postings are going to be regular Tuesday night jams. Listening back to this particular jam night, I believe we were lucky enough to have Brother Bill sitting in again. I always say, the more guitars the better. So this is a particularly good jam night. We kick it off (after a little jam-along with Elvis) with a tried and true warm-up jam from many years ago. Total freestyle jamming, just he way we like it. From there, we rip off some great jam night favorites like White Freightliner, That's Alright Mama, Mystery Train, Blue Suede Shoes, Well Alright and bunch of others too. We don't mess around when we have special guests with us. And this night was no exception.

Enjoy the Jams my little Jam Night Junkies. Rock On! -- DJ

This weeks Jam Night kicks off with a Bowie song we haven't done in a long time, if ever. We like our Bowie but he's got some tough songs to just "whip out." I guess that's the whole idea. Anyway, we kick out a bunch of standards from there along with a couple other adventurous attempts that went pretty well. Always takes a few songs (beers) to get warmed up but we always manage somehow. We wrap it up with one of our favorite closers of all time, Swingin' Doors. All in all another great Jam Night. Well here it is, last weeks Jam Night. That means I've caught up. What a relief. We kick this one off with a brand new addition to the Jam Night Jukebox. It's a little ditty by our buddy Donovan. We've done another one by Donovan a few times before but the name escapes me at the moment. Anyway, I did a little research on this one and there some great back story here. Apparently George Harrison wrote a verse for this song while on a trip to see the Maharishi with the Beatles and Mia Farrow but when Donovan recorded it he left it out. He says it was because Jimmy Page was playing such a great guitar solo that they couldn't let the song go over three minutes. But according to the musical producer and bass player, John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page didn't play on the recording. If you want to know the rest of the story just check out the wiki.

Anyhow, just the Gallinippers tonight. We tried a few other new ones and they turned out pretty good. But then again, we like them all. Considering all the songs we play are rarely anything we have practiced and in many cases we have never even played them before, you can't expect perfection. But we do expect rock and roll and that's what you get on the Jam Night Jukebox. Rock Out! -- DJ

Well, just got back from a little visit to the Live Music Capital of the World; Austin, TX. Let me tell you, if you like live music, and I do, you would love Austin. Our first night in town we managed to see four different bands including the 98 year old Pine Top Perkins and W.C. Clark at the world famous Antone's. You would think from there the rest could only be a consolation but nothing could be further from the truth. We wrapped up our trip on Monday night at the also world famous Stubb's by seeing The Heartless Bastards and Jenny Lewis. Great show, great crowd, great venue. If you have a chance to see the Heartless Bastards, I highly recommend it.

Anyway, this is the Jam Night just after returning from Austin and we were lucky enough for a return visit from Brother Bill!!! So we rocked even more than usual since we just had to take advantage of the dueling guitars. And as an homage to my Austin visit, for the first time on the Jam Night Jukebox, we played a Stevie Ray Vaughan song. Ok, a song Stevie covered. None the less, it was a great trip and a great return jam. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did. Rock On. -- DJ

We have the very last few edits to make on the new project and then, just as soon as we come up with the creative (insert, liner, cover, whatever) it will be available right here on the Jam Night Jukebox. I would vote for a hand written song list on a brown paper bag if it were up to me, but it isn't.

So stay tuned and enjoy this weeks special Brother Bill and the Gallinippers edition of The Jam Night Jukebox. -- DJ
Here's the last one for now my Jam Night Jukebox Junkies. This one is just the Gallinippers but we did our best to carry with all the usual traditionals. We even had a few Budweiser's in honor of Scotty. I'm sure he'll show next time so don't despair.

You won't be getting many Thursday night jams from this point on since we've started recording the third project! Despite a few hiccups (already) we continue to progress and learn new things with every (failed) attempt. Keep a lookout for the upcoming release of both project one and two any day now. It will, of course, be available right here for download and/or purchase. Remember, it costs countless dollars (ok, at least $10/month) to keep the Jam Night Jukebox up and running. Not to mention all the gear and beer. So your contribution to the Jam Night Jukebox (oh yeah, and the artists) is very much appreciated.

I'm thinking we should have a competition between China and France to see who the best Jam Night Jukebox Junkies are since those two countries, believe it or not, seem to be our biggest fans. Come on USA, where's the patriotism? -- DJ

The weather has not been kind to the Jam Night Jukebox. Jam Central has been without power for over a week now. But lucky for you, I held this one back and seeing as this is jam night, and I'm not jamming, it only seems appropriate to post it now. So here's a little mini jam we did a couple weeks ago and has been on the Jam Night Download Page, as always, since just after the jam. If you've already downloaded it, you might want to do it again as I do a little level adjustment on the file when I post the blog. So hopefully it sounds way better?
Well, wish us luck for a Thursday night Jam Night. We'll be keeping our fingers crossed. And keep your eyes open for the upcoming release of our new project. We're working on the final mix but as usual we are having technical difficulties. It's hard being on the bleeding edge of music AND technology. Jam on! -- DJ

We didn't jam last Tuesday night since Scotty was a no show so we took the opportunity to do a little more mixing of the current project. I'm uploading some of the more recent mixes to the members' download section and realized the last update I had done was way back at the end of November. Well lucky for you, we did jam two weeks ago and so here it is, at long last. It was a pretty typical jam night and we finished up with a bluegrass version of Angel Band and just to keep things interesting, a sort of bluegrass version of Killing Floor.

Make sure you check out the great stuff we're doing on the current project in the members' area. You can download just about all eight tracks and they are all very close to being done. Let us know what you think too. We love to get feedback from the masses. Until next week, Jam On! -- DJ

This weeks jam night was bit crowded with a couple unexpected guests. But they were aspiring musican looking for guidance and we just couldn't turn them away. They were actually big fans of Scotty's who decided they had to see the legend first hand, and that they did. I think it was very encouraging for them. Anyway we played a good (long) jam night. I'm sure they are inspired.

I've also been working on a new feature for the Jam Night Jukebox. It allows you to select jam nights from a calendar showing each jam night by month and year. As you can see from the length of this page, we have a lot of jam night in the archive. Hopefully this will be a better way of accessing them than simply a long list. Let me know what you think (Jam Night-O-Rama). It is currently in testing mode and I'd love to get any feedback.

Seems like forever since the last post but it's only been about two weeks and if you haven't noticed by now I've been busy putting up videos of the big show we played last month. It also took us a while to get all the equipment back to the jam room. Anyway, hope you've checked out all the vids on YouTube (search for Garland Buckeye). We've also actually gotten back to a little mixing on the Brad project and you can check out a pretty good version of Cop An Angle on the member's download page.

Enough administrative stuff! This weeks Jam Night features the sultry sounds and the return of Free Dirt. Bass and Guitar duets are a favorite of everyone, aren't they? We feature some harp and free-form whistling as well. We were feeling liberated after the election last week and decided it was an appropriate and welcome diversion from the "usual stuff" we have on Tuesday nights. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did (if that's possible). Jam Your Brains Out -- DJ

The big show was the next day and as it turned out we all showed up for Tuesday night and nobody else did. So it was a definite omen telling us we needed more practice. This is about as close as you are going to get to being there, unless you were there. Yes, I'm actually posting this a few days after we played the big gig and I gotta tell ya, it turned out to be a really good show. Whiting Tennis is a great guy and writes some incredible songs. Not to mention he's tall enough to clean your ceilings without a ladder. One other bonus was that we have video of the event and we intend to have it up here on the Jam Night Jukebox just as soon as I can figure out how. So stay tuned and get ready for a new trivia question. It's the least you can do to be able to check out our show from the comfort of your desk chair.

And while I'm at it, let me just put in my two cents worth of political commentary. Everybody needs to get out and vote. I don't care who you vote for, just get out there and do it. Don't pay attention to any polls, don't listen to your friends, don't listen to the pundits. Vote for what you think is best for America, not just yourself. Politicians working to make themselves and the rich richer at the expense of average working class men and women are how we got where we are now. There, I guess you know who I'm voting for. Rock (the vote) On -- DJ

Here's another special Thursday night Jam Night. We thought this would be our last chance to practice for the upcoming live show but as it turns out we managed to slip one more in. So here's the line up for the show. We try our best to play them all the way through without the usual long winded breaks for this, that and the other. We are learning to hold off and just do this, that and the other all at once. Lucky for you, you just get the solid gold from Jam Night and are spared most of this and that. Though If you listen close, you can sometimes hear the other. Jam like a rock star, or better. -- DJ

With the big show coming up, we've had twice as many Jam Nights for me to post. Unfortunately, I usually have enough trouble with the one a week. So this is a MEGA-POST!!! Here are four new Jam Nights all rolled into one. I'll just let them speak for themselves. Two of them are the usual Tuesday night sessions and the other two are the "bonus" sessions where we are actually practicing for the big show. Not that we don't hope everything sounds good, but we aren't used to actually practicing. We usually just "whip it out" and stay real casual about it. But we're all shaking off the rust for this show and hopefully, you can hear the difference from week to week. Hope you make it out to the show October 29th at C.P.R (behind Al's Bar) in Lexington Kentucky. Garland Buckeye will be performing with Whiting Tennis. Should be a great show. Until next time, keep on jamming. -- DJ

Welcome to another special bonus Thursday night Jam Night Jukebox. You might be saying, "what's up with that?"

Well, we're actually getting ready for a real live show, out in public, in front of people, we hope. It is going to be Wednesday, October 29th in Lexington Kentucky at C.P.R next to Al's Bar on 6th and Limestone. This will be the first time we've played a live show since a couple years ago when we did three songs at a Bowie tribute. Best of all, we'll be playing along with Whiting Tennis (check out his myspace page). If you haven't heard of Whiting, you owe it to yourself and your friends to check it out (and us too).

Anyway, here are a bunch of songs we're practicing for the upcoming show. No drummer tonight but hopefully he'll show up for the show (you know how drummers are). Enjoy and see you at the show -- DJ.

Welcome to another edition of the Jam Night Jukebox. We kicked this one off with a great little ditty and an oopsy which means we only got the last little bit of it. But I think we got enough for you to know it was a good one. We moved into an old Stones tunes from there and yet another oopsy. Not sure, but it might have something to do with the quantities of beer consumed prior to actually playing, I honestly don't remember.

Anyhow, we didn't let that discourage us and we kicked out a bunch more after that with no more oopsies (recording-wise that is). Turned out to be quite a kicked back beer drinking kinda session. We even put up the chain link for the last song. Yes, it's that time of year again, Halloween is just around the corner and we pulled out one of our favorites we've been waiting all year for, special bonus sound effect included. Enjoy -- DJ.

As promised, here's a special Thursday night edition of the Jam Night Jukebox. And as mentioned these are a bunch of the songs we've recently been recording and are planning on playing at a rare upcoming live event along with Whiting Tennis. If you don't know who Whiting is, you should google him. Or just come on down to the show (more details to follow) and meet him and us live and in person. So kick back and listen to get a feel for what we'll be playing. As much as we hate practicing (as opposed to just jamming), we are professionals (in our own minds) and we plan on having a great show. Until next time (Tuesday), Jam On. -- DJ

Tonight's Jam Night was cut short because of some final remixing of the final mix we did last Friday of the special tune we recorded with a local artist for some kind of artsy music and poetry thingy. Whatever you want to call it, it was a fun diversion and you can check it out in the members area. None the less, we managed to get in a few little ditties and had the added bonus of Adam joining in with The Gallinippers for a rare Tuesday night appearance. Other than not giving Scotty the lead mic for his song it was a good little set kicked off with a real jamming version of one of my favorite Jam Night songs, Commotion (CCR).

We're also getting set for an actual live appearance here in Lexington, KY along with Whiting Tennis. So Thursday should be a rare "Jam Night" session in which we will be getting ready for the show and actually practicing some of the songs we've been recording for the past nine months (and a few from the catalog). If you're in the area, be sure to check it out and let us know you're a Jam Night Jukebox follower. We'll see you there. -- DJ

We went hog wild tonight and managed to get over 45 minutes of just beautiful jamming on "tape". We should have known it was an unusual evening when we kicked things off with Hey Joe. Although it is probably one of the more jammed on songs of all time, it isn't usually one we do when there are so many other great Hendrix options. But it got us started and we just kept on cooking. May have had something to do with the fact that we had a spectator present, but I seriously doubt it.

Among the rest of the jams were Memphis Tennessee, Katy Too, I Can Help, The Breeze and many more. So kick back and enjoy this adventurous "full length" jam night jukebox. And don't forget to keep on jamming. -- DJ

If you've been paying close attention, and I know you have, you're probably wondering if we've been on vacation or what. Well, two weeks ago we had a special get together with a couple visitors from NYC to do some video taping, interviewing and actually laid down an add-on track for the project we've been working on. Anyway, last week we had a visit from Bryan again but this time he stayed and played a little. Too bad we also had quite a few technical difficulties and just managed to catch the very beginning of what turned out to be a great jam on a variation of CSNY's Ohio.

But despite the technical difficulties, we went on to capture a decent 22 minutes of jamming on everything from Gram Parsons to John Lennon. And as I have promised in the past (so many times) I'm posting this just in time for tomorrow's jam night. Rest assured, we'll never stop jamming. Hope you like jamming too. -- DJ

He kicked off jam night with a little solo action you don't want to miss. Mr. Shane showed up as well to provide inspiration and moral support (beer). With Brian providing the spark, we ignited into another great jam night. Well over our stated target of 15 minutes of just beautiful music.

Make sure you check out last weeks jam night too. I just finished posting it a few minutes ago. I know, I'll try to be better. Jam on. -- DJ

As I'm listening to it right now, it sound pretty good. We followed that with a sleepy little version of The Doors' "Moonlight Drive". And in the spirit of equal air time for all, Scotty rounded out the kick off trio of songs with a pickin' little mini version of "Set'em Up Joe".

I'd run out the whole set list but I need to get on to posting this weeks jam night before it's next week. We kick it off with a standard blues song written by E. McDaniel (AKA Bo Diddley) called Before You Accuse Me. We got so down and dirty, we had to follow up with a nice little ditty credited simply to Motown but since recorded by many many artist. I think ours was a cross between Creedence and The Temptations. From there we rolled on through several others from some great artist and at least one we've never played before. We even managed to let Scotty into the act (it is his band after all). Most notable was the special verse about the perfect country song. I love the way he says "gittin' drunk".

Hope you enjoy this weeks Jam Night and stay tuned for some upcoming special releases of actual recorded, engineered and mixed music.

We start off this jam night with a song none of us knew very well. But in the usual jam night style, we made it work. Or is that, we worked with what we had, maybe both. Anyway, its the old time classic "Cotton Fields" by none other than Huddie Ledbetter (A.K.A Lead Belly). From that point on we pretty much stayed in the same vein. Among the other songs on the virtual set list were hits like Family Bible, Spider and The Fly, Honkey Tonk Blues and the hits just kept on coming. So despite a late start, we still packed in almost 30 minutes of pure jam-o-rama.

Stay tuned for the official release of project one and a few tasty rough mixes of the new project on the members section. And don't be surprised if something (Hmmmm) in this post is the next trivia question to get into the members section. Jam like you mean it. -- DJ

Starting off with a Townes Van Zandt song and some cool vocal effects never hurt and this time was no exception. We kicked right in to a first time cover of Bad Boy. There was some question as to the song's origin and as it turns out it is not the only Larry Williams tune the Beatles, the Stones and the solo John Lennon covered.
We proceeded to rock a bunch of great tunes, as usual, with a surprise guest appearance by none other than Tom Hanks (voice). He didn't have much to say but he was very encouraging. Listen close and you might be able to hear his words of wisdom. We finished up with a pretty laid back version of Suzy Q (written by Dale Hawkins actually) for a grand total of a good albums worth.
We've just about wrapped up "taping" the new project and we are oh so close to having the previous project ready for release. In fact, I've heard a few rogue copies have already made it out into the collective. I'm sure if you google Garland Buckeye or Be Traditional EP you'll find it. But we'll have the offical release available here on The Jam Night Jukebox for all you hard core fans who like the real thing. Jam your brains out. -- DJ

I think tonight's theme was "that's harder than it looks." We dug through all the archives, both digital and hard copy, and came up with several songs we thought we would give a try. And try is what we did. Sometimes we have to push ourselves just to make sure we don't get too comfortable. Not that tonight was one of those nights. Anyway, as usual, there are some golden moments and some, not so much. But that's what you get here on the Jam Night Jukebox; just what you paid for.
Jam Night 07012008

Another great jam night from Scotty and the Gallinippers. We even played a request from a live, in studio, guest. Which brings up a good point. We are more than willing to take request. We may not play them, but you're more than welcome to ask. We started out slow (and late) but ended up with another "full length" jam night. So sit back and enjoy. We're on a roll now. Also, for those of you who have checked out and enjoyed the Sunday Beer jam, we've posted a "Best Of" edition of the Sunday Beer jam over on the file download page. We had so many technical difficulties that day so this mp3 cuts straight to all the best tracks and cuts out some of the stuff that was "not so much". Get out and jam, I know we will. -- DJ

Geoff Jam 06262008

A couple weeks ago we were lucky enough to catch the annual Sunday Beer jam session and this week we were truly blessed by the presence of one heck of a bass player - Geoff T. We don't have a name for this line-up but I think something like "The Bassman Cometh" would be good. Anyway, instead of the usual Thursday night recording sessions, we really stepped out and rocked a great jam session for you. Having Geoff rockin' out on the bass allowed me to once again attempt to tickle the ivories and play a little lead singer action. Mostly I just poked around on the keyboard and listened to the guys rock out on a lot of extended solos. I think I could get used to it. Lots of action over at the Jam Night Jukebox Forum so check it out right after you check out this special Thursday night edition of The Jam Night Jukebox. And don't forget to keep on Jammin'. -- DJ

Best jam night we've had in quite some time; a solid half hour plus a bonus song. We started out with a very traditional song that I bet you've heard but probably not like this. If you listen to the words carefully you might just be surprised as well. We then kicked into another sort of Americana classic but half way through we realized we were missing a page from the song book. So in the usual jam night style, we improvised a quick ending. After all, improvising is just one of the great things about jamming.
So take a listen to this weeks installment and let us know what you think. Don't forget to check out the new Jam Night Jukebox Forum as well. Feel free to leave any comments you may have there if you want to let everybody know what you think. Another installment of Scotty and the Gallinippers (I found out how to actually spell it). We were a bit delayed by the great NBA final game (in which the Celtics BLEW OUT the Lakers). But we kicked off with Walk the Line and Scotty does a great Johnny Cash. Then we kicked in to a special bluesy version of a Ray Charles cover. From there it was all icing on the cake. No technical difficulties tonight so we actually have a pretty good set for you this time.
Make sure to check out the Jam Night Jukebox Forum for all the enlightening discussion going on about everything jammin'. Well, as usual (maybe worse than usual) I am quite late getting this installment posted. So much going on lately but I think we're over the hump. The Jam Night Jukebox Forum is officially open, although still in beta. Be sure to check out the jammin' discussions going on over there.
In this installment, we started out with a smokin' version of Folsom Prison Blues and then we launch right into a reggae version of something hot (I think it was Stay All Night) but due to technical difficulties we only got the intro. Also due to the technical difficulties this is a short installment. But lucky you, we have a special installment I'm getting ready to post right now. And, tomorrow is Jam Night and I promise to have the fresh jammin' up promptly. So check out the official Jam Night Jukebox Forum and stay tuned for some rapid updates. Keep on jammin'. -- DJ

OK, OK, I know I'm extremely over due with this but I've been trying really hard to get the (in)famous Jam Night Jukebox Forum back up and running. You may have even noticed the site has been down a few times over the last week. But either way, we're getting closer and I am finally putting last weeks Jam Night up just in time to head off to tonights Jam Night. This installment features several classics from way back and a couple new ones (new for us). We're not sure how it happens, but Scotty just keeps popping them out (I'll skip the vulgar simile).
And I've been informed that we aren't giving enough air time to our sponsors so let me just take this opportunity to remind everyone that the Jam Night Jukebox truly appreciates the support of the greatest music store around, Court Street Music (http://www.courtstreetmusic.com).
So it's off to Jam Night. Hope you enjoy this episode and I'll try to have tonight's up before next week. Jam On! -- DJ

It's coming along nicely and much faster than the last project (which is actually not quite done done even still). Amazing what a little experience can do for you. And I still say we will have the return of the Jam Night Jukebox Forum any day now. Still working out the technical difficulty but I've been too busy to really hit it. Things should clear up soon so stay tuned. Rock On!!! -- DJ

Well, I'm doing pretty good this week. I'm actually getting this out within 24hrs of Jam Night. I'm sure that knowledge will help you feel more like you were actually there. And while we're on that subject, we may just have to start including more of the chit-chat (ok, BSing) that goes on. Then again, we try to keep the broadcast interesting (Rrrrreeeeerrrrrrrr!! Budumpba!! OH!!). Let us know what you think.
Also, the official return of The Jam Night Jukebox Forum is just a few unresolved glitches away from being ready. So wish me luck.
Tonight's jam is just another great little jam session. A few new ones and a few standards in the mix. Full four piece for you're listening pleasure. We're starting to get good at changing the equipment around between recording mode and jam mode. Jam On. -- DJ

But enough excuses. Here's another jammin' jam night of good old favorites, some covers, some originals. Some never before played. Some standards. All together, we call it another great installment of The Jam Night Jukebox. We're also getting very close to having the long lost Jam Night Jukebox Forum Grand Reopening.
Same Line

You might be wondering (hopefully) what the heck has been going on here at the Jam Night Jukebox for the last couple weeks. Well, in a word, RECORDING. With the first project pretty much wrapped up (and soon to be available here on the JNJ) we have set out on project 2 feeling like old pros. This is going to be eight songs of Brad's this time and once we had the drum tracks down Brad's been raring to go on the rest. So we now have bass and drum tracks (I'm still not happy with my bass tracks, but we'll just call them working versions for now) and as of last Thursday, Brad has laid down some tasty little guitar tracks on a few of the songs. And then of course there are the "scratch" vocal and rhythm guitar he so kindly provided on some of the tracks so the rest of us know where the heck we are. So that's the excuse and we're sticking to it. Not that I don't love the whole creative process, but I'm kinda itch'n for a jam (and I know you are too). So we'll see what happens tomorrow. For now, here's a little taste of the new project. A little tune called Same Line. So far, my top pick. But we're a long way from done and you never know which one will rise to the top. Rock On Jammers! -- DJ

Well, hope you've missed us as much as we've missed... jamming. Last week you can blame Uncle Sam. Scrambling to do the last minute tax return thing. Boy am I glad that's over. We've also been dedicating the majority of our jam nights to recording the new project. We've got drum track for eight new songs and Tuesday night we worked on bass tracks. Thursday we will probably do a few more bass tracks, but I have a feeling (ok, I'm hoping) we will do a bit of good old jamming as well. It really all depends on who shows up for jam night. And at least as far as the musicians go, that's very hard to predict. Here's a taste of one of the project songs with bass and drum tracks along with a "scratch" vocal and acoustic guitar track. Let us know what you think. Long live the Jam Night Jukebox. -- DJ

Tonight marks the official beginning of project number 2. We spent some time revising our layout for the drum mics and we think we're on to something. Hopefully we will get better isolation of the individual drums/cymbals with this new layout. Before we started recording though, we did a warm-up song which was another tribute to Bill Keithley. If anyone deserves a second tribute, it is he. So for tonight's Jukebox we have the tribute/warm-up song plus a sample of the drum tracks we recorded tonight. If you listen very carefully, you can hear the guitar in the background. I'll let you guess which song it is. You've heard it a few times recently on the Jukebox. Ok, it's official, I've finally caught up with these updates. Until tomorrow that is. Hope your having as much fun with your taxes as I am. Thank god for the jukebox. Makes great background music for doing taxes (or anything else you might be doing). -- DJ

Rock trio tonight. Started with some Beatles. One of them was our tribute to Bill Keithley who was a long time member of the UK Wildcats staff. If you watched a UK Wildcats game in the last 60 years you most likely would have seen him there on the sidelines. Won't be the same without him. Anyway, we played several of the upcoming project songs to get ready for recording and threw in a few others just for fun. Once again, I'm delinquent, but that's life. Enjoy.

After getting last Thursday's Jam Night up on the site I realized I hadn't put up last Tuesday's Jam Night. I can't believe none of the loyal listeners didn't send me an e-mail and let me know (or at least complain). So without further adu, here is last Tuesday's Jam Night. You might call this a practice night. But we don't like to use the P-word much so we'll just call it another great Jam Night. Had the gang of four in attendance and played a few of the upcoming project songs and some other bonus songs. I'm only getting this out to the web now (Monday morning) because I spent the weekend doing the final (hopefully) touches on the first project mix down/post production. Should have a sample out on the members area any day now. The entire project will be available just as soon as we have some liner notes and graphics put together, maybe sometime next Christmas :-)_

Just another great jam night. We had the power trio but weren't ready to start working on the new project just yet. So we just rocked the house on quite a few of the new songs which will be on the next project. We may have actually finished up the mixing of the last project last Thursday (thus, no Thursday night jam night). Now it's just a few finishing touches and we're ready for world wide release. Remember where your heard it first. This Thursday is the start of the big tourney so we may have to put off the new project a little further. Hope your favorite team rocks (unless they go up against mine, or any of my picks). Rock on. --DJ

Another country style three piece guitar jam night. Couple new songs. Scotty showed up late but we hadn't managed to play anything before he came so it might be a good thing he showed at all. It's almost 2:00 AM Thursday and we've just finished up (hopefully) the mixing for the project. But I felt I had to get Tuesday's jam night out to you or I'd be violating my own rules.

As promised, here is the special bonus Jam Night with our special bonus Jam Night guest Jeff Alsberg. He does a lot of his own recording and mixing but it's a whole different thing when you bring it to the Jukebox. And the Jukebox is a whole different thing when we bring in Jeff. Some rockin' little riff-ditties that we took to the limit for some special moments we're so happy to bring to the Jam Night Jukebox. Too bad we don't have him around more often. We did however decide it was worth a band name. Since this is the Free Dirt duo along with Mr. Alsberg we decided on "10 Tons of Mud". You might consider this our first release. If you check the Jam Night Jukebox archives, you can find some previous 10 Tons of Mud action too. Just more proof that at the Jam Night Jukebox you always get what you paid for and more.

Since it was Thursday night we decided we would do a quick messin' with the last song from Tuesday's jam night. If you want to hear that, you'll have to become a member. Or actually, you have to answer a rock and roll trivia question. If you're here, you're already a member of the jam night family. The rest of the night was just a bunch of Free Dirt. Some brand new material, a blast from the past (for us) and a bit of practice (ok, I said it) for the next project we hope to start very soon. We were expecting a surprise guest but he was delayed en route. Just means we should be having a bonus jam for you soon. We love visitors to the Jam Night Jukebox. Especially, live, in jam room visitors. Until next time, jam on.

Jam Night 03042008

Crazy jam night. But it always is when Brad gets behind the drums. Not sure which is the cause and which is the effect. We gave a few ones we have had trouble with in the past another shot and I'm pretty sure we at least managed to do better than before. And once Brad moved into the drivers seat we really got rolling. We also played several never before songs and they came off pretty well. After an extra long jam session (at least what we got on "tape") we wrapped up with a new one too. It's one of my favorite Lou Reed songs and I always imagined I would play it on drums. Instead I got to sing it and play bass. Always a challenge but that's why we do it -- NOT! Hope you dig it. -- DJ

Just the power rock trio tonight. Nothing acoustic but the drums. Some rocking oldies and some of the newer original stuff so to be part of the next project. We really need to get the last one wrapped and released before embarking on a new one but life doesn't always work out the way you planned. Congrats to Adam and Joseline on the new addition. We know you'll be back to wrap the project as soon as you can. This set is actually one I might envision us playing live if that ever happened. So let us know if you liked the show. Sorry I'm so late getting this posted.

Another great jam night with the full four piece line up. And another night of braving the weather to do it. Despite getting a late start we managed to pull out thirty plus minutes of solid jamming for you too. No matter the weather, no matter the songs, we jam to live and live to jam. And we hope you feel the same. Also, keep your eyes open for some new changes coming to the jukebox in the near future. Jam On! -- DJ

Special special jam night tonight. Not only did we have a rare Friday night jam (to make up for the missed Thursday night jam) but we had a jam night virgin join us. Cousin Chris joined us for the first time and we were very pleased to say the least. He's a long time rocker even if he is just 22. We were so happy to have a new jammer join us and to be able to make up for the missed jam night that we rocked out a solid hour and twenty minutes for you this time. One of the longer jam nights on record. And despite his youth he really stepped up and not only brought some new material to the jam night jukebox but played lead guitar and sang too. We didn't even have to have a post jam meeting to decide he is now an official jam night jukebox member. We hope to be seeing (and hearing) a lot more from him in the future. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Extra special four piece country (classics, of course) style jam night tonight. As usual, had a few little issues trying to play new songs but that's the whole point of jam night. We just pick something and give it a shot. If we like it, and it isn't completely horrible, you get to hear it. And we might just add it to our list of regulars if it came off really well. As someone new to actual notes when playing music (used to play drums up until a couple years ago, now playing bass) I find it interesting not to mention convenient when we have a theme running through a lot of the songs. Tonight the theme was G-C-D, or some variation of it. Not sure if you can tell just by listening but even the last song we talked Scotty into playing turned out, completely by chance, to be another G-C-D song. Go figure. That's all until Thursday's jam night. Enjoy -- DJ.

Great jam night tonight (IMNSHO). We had the basic three piece so the possibilities were endless. We added a dedicated vocal mic to the mix so you may notice some peaks we weren't used to. We're constantly learning but we're sure a long way from the old boom box recording days. We played some newer original material that will be on an upcoming project, some old original material and some classic covers both old and new. Definitely a rock and roll night of jamming. Hope you like it. -- DJ

Another country night except we didn't have a drummer. Maybe we should call it bluegrass night instead. Some new tunes we haven't played before and as usual, a little bit of pure jammage. Just keepin' it real. We were a bit bummed about the huge blowout the Cats suffered down in Vande but we managed to have a good time anyway. Another Thursday night Free Dirt jam. We're always on the cutting edge as far as the songs we play on the Jukebox. We take it upon ourselves to pull in the new material and give it the once over before trying them out with the rest of the fellas. Always interesting to hear many different songs done by a guitar and bass duo for the first time. But somebody has to do it. Sometimes, we even surprise ourselves. Either way, we have a good time and hope that comes across.

Another jam night with a drummer. Hope this trend continues. We also had a special surprise visit from Scotty so we mixed it up with some of the best country classics and a few others as well. All the while a storm was raging outside the little jam night hut. We lucked out and didn't lose power and managed to get it all "on record" even though I forgot to bring the MOTU (analog/digital interface). We finally packed it all up and ran for home in between some major thunder storms and tornado warnings. So all in all, it was a good jam night and nobody got hurt.

Ok, I'll say it right up front, I've been a huge slacker the last two weeks. I've had to do some traveling for my day job and just haven't gotten around to updating the site. But last week we did manage to get a couple jam nights in and now I'm trying to get the site updated before the big game starts. So here you go, a double update. Hope it keeps you happy until the next time I manage to get to this. Rest assured, we will be jamming and sooner or later, it will be on the site. This is Tuesday night's jam and it was a good one. We actually had a drummer and we took advantage of it. Some rockin' versions of some of our favorites and a couple we haven't done before. This is a rock session for sure. Enjoy.

The Way That You're Remembered

Spent another night mixing down the new project. We're really cooking now. Managed to finish up (mostly) Emily Kay
and the next two songs as well. Two more to go and it's time for the big final mix down party. This selection is the
fourth on the project and is one of our favorites (if we are allowed to have a favorite child). The dobro (EBGIII) in
particular sounds really great. I've been listening to the four songs over and over again and I'm really quite pleased
with the clarity and the dynamics. All four selections are available in the members only section of the Jam Night Jukebox
so become a member today. It's really easy. Either way we'd love to hear what you think. So drop us a line sometime.

Go Away Emily Kay

It was back to business tonight. We believe we've solved the extreme low end issue on Easy Easy Easy and
you can check it out in the members only section. With that small victory behind us we moved on to song
two of the project. This one is called Go Away Emily Kay. I'm told that is the "main point of the song" but
like me (and any others on the inside) you may refer to it as simply Emily Kay. We must have learned a lot
in the months of remixing the first song because we actually think we've got a close approximation of the
final mix for the second song and we only started working on it tonight. But that's the whole point of this
"little experiment". So here is the next song from the upcoming B Traditional LP -- Go Away Emily Kay. Hope
 you like it -- DJ.

The Jam Night Jukebox 08-Jan-2008

Well, we spent the entire night last Thursday trying to get a final mix for the first song of the first
project. We burned several versions down to CD and listened to them on various different stereos and found
that we had some very annoying low end noise. So tonight we did a bit more looking into the source of the
problem and may have found it. Along with getting a late start tonight it was already quite late before
we decided to actually play some music. We couldn't imagine going more than a week without any new material
for the Jukebox. So on a whim, we started messing with some wild vocal effects and the synthesizer. The result
is this ten minute, multi-track, experimental, improvisational lunatic rant a la The Beatles (can you say Magical Mystery Tour), Zappa,
Alice Cooper etc. etc. Definitely not the usual Jam Night by a long shot. But we know how much all you Jam Night
Jukeboxers love a good acid trip every once in a while. If you're like me, you'll be listening to this over and
over again and hearing something different every time. Never a dull moment at the Jam Night Jukebox.

Only got around to adding lead electric guitar and dobro tracks tonight but boy do they sound good. Things
are really coming together. So much so that we wondered whether or not to actually put this up on the Jukebox
since we wouldn't want to spoil the actual release. But great music needs to be shared and we all agree this
is some great music. Did a little tweaking to the levels too so other than some backup vocals and what I'm sure
will be hours of post production mixing and tweaking this is very close to being finished. Of course then we
move on to one of many other projects we are now very excited to get going on. If this project is any indication,
we can't wait to get going. Hope you feel the same way. Enjoy and keep on jamming -- DJ.

Just our little jazz trio again tonight; guitar, bass and harmonica. If you didn't know by now, we really
like the Beatles. So once again tonight we found ourselves thumbing through one of several Beatles
song books and picking out some tasty selections of the fab four. Then we previewed some of the selections
of Brad's that you will hear on some of the other projects on the list. Throw in a couple Jam Night Jukebox
standards and you have just another great jam night. As you listen, don't forget the Jam Night Jukebox mantra.
Unplanned, unrehearsed, unscheduled and unashamed. Just a reminder, especially to those who are now regular
subscribers to the podcast, we'd love to hear from you so stop by the web site and leave us some feedback. Or
just shoot off an e-mail to dj@jamnightjukebox.com.
Until next time, keep on jamming -- DJ.

Made good progress on the project tonight. Put down bass tracks on all six songs plus a revised lead rhythm
guitar track on one song and lead vocals for all six songs. Starting to sound like a full fledged album if
I say so myself. A pretty good one at that. We are all highly impressed with the sound quality too. Amazing
what you can do from the comfort of your home (or someone elses) these days. We'll be adding some lead guitar
and backing vocals next time so stay tuned. For now, enjoy this rough mix, semi-complete rendition. DJ

Back to "normal" at the Jukebox tonight. Two guitars and bass. Lots of the old standards and a couple
not so standard. Even a brand new attempt inspired by a YouTube video I saw earlier in the day. Live
music jams are what we are all about and that is what you get tonight in spades. Nearly an hour worth.
I think it had something to do with the cold weather and not wanting to take a break and step outside.
Or maybe we were just inspired by not having a heckler tonight. Either way, hope you like it. Or at least
parts of it. Jam on -- DJ.

Making good progress on the first of several projects. Tonight we recorded drum tracks for all six of
the songs on the project and proceeded to add the lead rhythm guitar tracks. Far from being finished,
here are the same six songs as last week but these are the actual tracks rather than the quick, live
run-through. The mix is a quick and dirty one (so we could share them with you) but you should be able
to hear (and appreciate) the vastly superior sound quality. Next week we add bass, quitar lead(s) and vocals if all goes well.
Sing along if you like. -- DJ

Interesting night at the Jam Night Jukebox tonight. We had a unexpected (not to mention uninvited) guest
that was a little on the "rough" side. He did manage to do a little drumming, but for the most part he
played the part of resident heckler. None the less, it was the "Halloween" edition of the Jam Night Jukebox
so somehow it seemed appropriate. Not sure I managed to edit out all of the profane language but then again,
nobody said the Jam Night Jukebox was rated G. Listen if you dare and Happy Halloween.

Really getting into this recording stuff now. In other words, a whole lot more than press the record
button and play the song. We've been focusing on getting good drum tracks as the basis for everything
else we intend to add. You have to start somewhere and we want the best start we can get. So we managed
to lay down the drum tracks for 3 of the songs off the initial project which we had actually started
working on way back in the fall of '06 (and which you can listen to way down at the bottom of the page).
Of course three drum tracks aren't much to listen to, so we decided to do a simple, quick run through of
all six songs that will be on the EP, in order even. It will certainly be interesting to see how this
compares to the final product. Enjoy -- DJ.

Guitar, bass and harmonica; what else do you need? No stopping the Tuesday night troopers. We really hit
the highlights tonight with some tasty selections of some of the best song writers we know. On top of that
we kicked out a few impromptu jams. After all, we don't call it the Jam Night Jukebox for nothing. Like
my momma used to say, the Jam Night Jukebox is like a box of chocolates; you never know what your going
to get. And one more thing, Brad says "excuse me, but there was no avoiding it" regarding his little

There was a storm a brewin' but it didn't stop us from getting into a lot more detail on this whole
recording thing. We did a little post-production experimentation with the song from last week checking
out all the available effects to see if it was actually possible to improve it. We settled on a few
vocal and percussion effects that we liked but we also realized we could spend an entire week tweaking
just one song. So you'll just have to check out the release to hear the final product. We
also did a lot more investigation on exactly how to go about isolating the drums, getting the
base (not bass) track, multiple inputs, levels and a bunch of other technical stuff that you just don't
think about until you have to. Then we put all this new knowledge to use. So here is our 2nd multi-track
 recording. Enjoy -- DJ.

Still celebrating the big UK win over LSU last Saturday. Hoping for another big win over Florida this
Saturday. You might be asking how this applies to the Jam Night Jukebox. Well, the Cats don't make it
look easy, sometimes stumble, sometimes fall, but they keep on truckin' and in the end they get the job
done. Sounds like the Jam Night Jukebox to me. Smooth little Jam Night tonight. Greased up by a little
whiskey. Always interesting to say the least. Hope you enjoyed the multi-track recording last Thursday.
We'll be back at it this Thursday. Enjoy -- DJ.

After talking about it for the last several weeks (ok, months) the stars finally aligned and the MOTU is
now back in action. Not that we didn't face some challenges even tonight. But nothing was going to stop us.
So now, without further ado, I give you the first in what will be a long series of multi-track recording efforts.
This one is really just a test of all the nuts and bolts to see if we can remember how this works. This mixdown
uses 7 of the 8 tracks we recorded. The original vocal track being the eighth. Hope you enjoy the crystal clear
quality. Look for this song in it's final rendition on one of the upcoming projects. I'm not even sure it has a name

Well, after the disappointing Cats loss last Thursday it felt like we were coming back from the war tonight.
But it was quite a homecoming. We had a special guest to round out the bass and two guitar line-up with selected
keyboard, harmonica and vocal contributions. I think we were all ready to get back to it and we pumped out over
an hour of great live jamming. Lots of classic country favorites. Some old standards of ours and some new. Remember,
this is live, unrehearsed, unscripted and more often than not unplanned. Luckily for you, it is not unedited.
Now that we are podcasting we'd especially love to hear from any of our new listeners. Drop us a line with any and all

Strange Jam Night tonight. We'll call this one "Overcoming Adversity". The laptop was acting up and so were the
musicians. We managed to get a couple tracks before losing one member. Then we managed to get a couple more almost
without issue. We won't be jamming Thursday night due to the big SEC matchup between UK and USC (South Carolina).
GO CATS!!! Some things (but not many) just demand higher priority than Jam Night. But once again, we will be hitting

This might have been the kickoff "return of the MOTU" jam except for a slew of last minute technical difficulties.
So once again, we took the opportunity to "tune up" on some of the soon to be released project songs. Some really

No jam night last Thursday. Call it the perfect storm but we all had a reason we couldn't make it. Doesn't happen
often (thankfully). But tonight we came back with an almost packed house. Just missing the drummer. But Scotty (Scooter)
was back in the house after a short hiatus and the harmonica player showed up again. So we laid down a pretty solid

The rhythm section was on time, but we don't know any songs with just bass and drums. By the time the

One new song and one we've never really played (very well). Throw in a few other jams and we called it a

Revenge of the Jam Night!!! No drummer but we had the bonus guitar and harmonica players tonight. A couple
